Description

We are looking for an experienced and visionary technology leader to partner with internal stakeholders and customers to identify opportunities, gaps in our current product and data platforms as well as customer pain points, and to envision and craft innovative solutions to address those needs.

As the Senior Director for product platform and architecture team, you will play a leading role evangelizing a state of the art product platform to support all of Norstella’s new product delivery pipeline. Working alongside product development teams, content technology functions as well as product and sales organizations, you will design future technological vision whilst enhancing and evolving our established software assets. You will have a strong understanding of enterprise architectures to showcase the value of the business service offerings and technology solutions. You will be passionate about the needs of our customers, their issues and how ’s product suite can make their lives easier. You will ensure that the technology organization is customer-centric in their approach, putting the customer at the center of what they do. You will identify emerging market trends, systemic challenges and other opportunities used to formulate innovative, scalable and repeatable solutions.

Working closely with product engineering tech Leadership team, you will bring strategic thinking, judgement and influencing skills to develop and implement solutions that improve the speed, quality, impact and cost-effective delivery of product solutions. You are accountable for delivering the best possible value from IT investments through the exploitation of technology solutions. You will also excel in business and financial acumen with an ability to translate the commercial strategy into a compelling, prioritized technical roadmap.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Product Platform Leadership:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy to drive the creation and evolution of our product platform as a horizontal capability supporting customer facing web applications, APIs, data marts as well as data feeds.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical product requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry standards.
    • Collaborate with business unit focused technology teams ensuring platform focus on real technology needs and challenges. Enhance product platform to address those needs. Promote and ensure effective use of product platform across all BUs.
  2. Enterprise Software Architecture:
    • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and robust enterprise software architecture in a cloud-first environment.
    • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to support the long-term vision and objectives of the company.
    • Champion best practices in software development, ensuring adherence to coding standards, automation, performance optimization, and security protocols.
  3. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Build and lead a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members, promoting a learning culture within the organization.
  4. Strategic Planning:
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with overall business strategy and objectives.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
  5. Vendor Management:
    • Evaluate and manage relationships with external technology vendors and partners, ensuring the alignment of services with organizational needs and standards.



Key Requirements:

  1. Education:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Experience:
    • Proven experience (15+ years) in a senior technology leadership role, with a focus on developing and managing product platforms in the health sciences or pharmaceutical or related industries.
  3. Technical Skills:
    • Strong expertise in cloud technologies (preferably AWS).
    • In-depth knowledge of software architecture, microservices, and API design.
    • Experience with modern development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices.
  4. Leadership and Communication:
    • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing technology teams.
  5. Strategic Vision:
    • Demonstrated ability to formulate and execute a strategic technology roadmap aligned with business goals.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $130,000 to $190,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
