Job Description

The Finance Organization
At Norstella, we are building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. We have begun a comprehensive program to streamline processes, enhance systems, realign the organization, and add opportunities for personal skill-building and professional growth. We are finding new ways to add value and provide strategic support. This is the kind of work we do. FP&A Revenue & Analytics, Corporate, Tech, and Commercial
Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. Specializing in Financial Planning & Analysis, this role offers the opportunity to drive better business partnering and bring key insights to our leaders. This role could support the Commercial, Corporate or Tech team based on prior experience. This is a growth-focused opportunity with potential to have a strong impact on the company. Youll be a key partner working directly with the business. Youll focus on developing business and financial reports, tracking against budget, and ad-hoc strategic analysis to help business partners. We are a growing Finance team continuing to think strategically and look for opportunities to deliver more value. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a strategic thinker, and a team player.


  • Partner with business on the development and communication of the budget and forecast, financial reporting, operational analysis and executive reviews for Budget, Forecast, and Actuals
  • Evaluate business results and serve as a functional expert to the business to provide strategic guidance and insights
  • Manage headcount and partner closely with the HR team to ensure alignment to budget
  • Create, enhance, and manage financial models to increase budgeting and forecasting accuracy
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to complex business performance issues to define and execute action plans
  • Accountable for the quality and delivery of financial information
  • Interpret and evaluate monthly business trends, including budget variance of financial results and Key Performance Indicators to identify areas of risk and opportunities and provide recommendations
  • Assess the impact of strategic financial decisions and present recommendations to leadership
  • Design, develop and implement methods and strategies to continually improve processes


  • A bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics
  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience
  • Prior experience and an advanced understanding of corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis, accounting processes, and SaaS KPIs
  • Analytical skills to drill down into the detail but also understand and communicate the big picture
  • Strong Excel skills with demonstrated ability to build intuitive financial models
  • Experience in the life sciences industry or SaaS business model.
  • A high degree of analytical capability and attention to detail with the ability to work in an ambiguous environment and deliver results.
  • Strong strategic skills, with the proven ability to identify and assess key points, implications, and recommendations
  • Demonstrated in depth understanding of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis
  • Knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, tax reporting and accounting practices and International Financial Reporting
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management

Even better if you have:

  • A masters in business administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • A professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, CMA)
  • Proficiency in Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and Hyperion Strategic Finance

Additional Information

Location: Remote Company operates primarily on USA East Coast and UK working hours.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $140,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
