Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced AWS Cloud Architect to join our team and lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based solutions on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AWS services, architecture principles, and best practices to architect scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions for our organization. 

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Design and architect cloud-based solutions on AWS that meet the organization's requirements for scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
  • Design, implement, and manage AWS infrastructure components including compute, storage, networking, databases, and security services.
  • Document architecture designs, configurations, and procedures. Promote best practices for AWS usage and ensure adherence to standards and guidelines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing complex, scalable, and secure solutions on AWS.
  • Deep understanding of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, and others.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, security principles, and best practices in cloud environments.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and infrastructure as code (IaC), specifically Terraform
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with serverless computing and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks and analytics platforms on AWS such as Sagemaker.
  • Experience with ML Ops and Artificial Intelligence
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional.
  • Experience with other cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $170,000 to $220,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
