The Role:
C+D is looking for a creative and enthusiastic reporter and features assistant to join its multi-award-winning editorial team in central London. Reporting to the editor-in-chief, the successful candidate will be responsible for reporting news stories, commissioning op-eds, writing longer interviews and features, and working on multimedia projects such as podcast and video for the UK’s 80,000-strong community pharmacy workforce, particularly C+D’s peer-to-peer Community platform, to engage with and grow the audience. The successful candidate will have plenty of opportunity to grow and progress within the role and develop their skills.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting, pitching and writing news stories and features
- Commissioning comment pieces on the most pressing issues facing community pharmacists and their teams
- Developing an impressive contacts book, ensuring that voices from across the community pharmacy sector are heard
- Commissioning exclusive content for C+D’s peer-to-peer Community platform
- Attending conferences and industry events
- Social media activity
- Exploring multimedia trends and new platforms to increase engagement
Desired skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Lots of ideas for comment pieces, interactive content, campaigns and data-driven journalism
- A proven track record of meeting deadlines
- Fastidious attention to detail
- Self-motivated
- Calm under pressure
- A passion for using multimedia reporting techniques and social media to develop audience engagement
- Capable of quickly getting to grips with complex topics
- Previous journalism experience
- Training from an NCTJ-accredited course
- Up-to-date knowledge of media and publishing law
Location:
- Hybrid (3 More London Riverside London, SE1 2AQ)
Travel Requirements:
- > 10% ad-hoc (may include international).
