Job description
As Principal Consultant, Custom Solutions - APAC, you will be expected to contribute fully to team objectives by driving consulting revenue growth in the markets. Given the competitiveness of the consulting industry, client satisfaction is key to long term success. As such, commercial awareness, communication skills, rigor in analysis and reporting, flexibility, and cultural sensitivity are key factors for a candidate’s success in this role.
Responsibilities
In this role as Principal Consultant - APAC, your key responsibilities will include:
Business development:
- Sell a broad range of evidence driven consulting projects to new and existing clients, in close collaboration with the Norstella sales team.
- Identify and understand the needs of the client base, and develop ongoing and in depth relationships with key clients to secure new and repeat consulting business.
Practice leadership:
- Lead the growth of the consulting practice, with responsibility for sales performance and the establishment of a high performing consulting presence in the markets.
- Lead by example to firmly establish a team where integrity and the highest professional standards are adhered to both internally and externally. Work hand in hand with leaders in the Norstella sales team to ensure full alignment with the sales function and drive consulting revenue generation through close collaboration.
Project oversight:
- Norstella Custom Solutions takes pride in avoiding the “pitch and dump” model of consulting; working closely with our global and local consulting delivery resources, you will monitor project progress and overcome challenges that arise to deliver high quality projects within the timelines agreed with clients, in order to drive repeat business.
Requirements
- You will have a background in an international pharma company and/or a strategy or consulting firm
- Experience in pharma related deal making, finance, and advisory services
- Significant domestic and international exposure, including experience working outside China
- A can do attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit, with a vision to grow our consulting practice and revenue
- Tenacity and resilience in the face of challenges
- Proven experience as part of high performing consulting teams internationally
- Proven experience in commercial dealings with pharma companies
- Proven presentation skills to win business from high level corporate leadership
- Proven ability to oversee the delivery of consulting projects to pharma clients in a manner that maximizes opportunities for repeat business
- Approximately 10 years or more of relevant pharma related work experience
- Native level of Chinese and business English
Travel: Minimal
Location: Hybrid – Shanghai (preferred) or Beijing
